A Mortgage WS Account Representative is responsible for generating new business for the company and for all aspects of training including but not limited to State and Federal regulations, products, credit policy, lock policy, technology interfaces, uploading loans in system, delivering loans to investors, and managing the level of pipeline fallout. The cultivation of new accounts that meet the criteria of the bank is an integral function of the position. Must have a clear understanding of the Value Proposition of the Bank and understand how prospective clients match. The Sales initiative involves market research, market segmentation, client identification and cultivation of referral sources. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a Market Analysis to identify the size of the market and the type of loan products most commonly offered in that area.
  • Identify all prospects by geographic location, product usage and volume potential.
  • Categorize all prospects into Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3 based on potential for new originations.
  • A weekly call program is established to define the frequency and nature of client contacts.
  • Targeted client calls are performed on a weekly basis and use each opportunity to convey the Value Proposition of the Bank and to disseminate product and program information to the client.
  • Will cause the Third Party Originator to complete the Loan Application for each referral (applicant). All loan applications must be completed in a prescribed manner that complies with all company policies and procedures as well as State and Federal regulations.
  • Train the Third Party Originator to collect all required information from the borrower to complete the loan application and work with the Customer Service Representative to advise the Third Party Originator for any additional information or assistance required by the processing staff.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of the mortgage transactions particularly, preliminary and final disclosures, the application, submission, appraiser selection, approval, closing and investor delivery processes.
  • Ability to perform a Market Analysis and cultivate clients
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, in relating to internal and external customers.
  • Strong computer skills. Familiar with using Microsoft Excel and Word and the internet.
  • Ability to present material in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented.

INDUSTRY AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years of mortgage industry related experience.

ACADEMIC:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
